Regarding the subject of "Ghana's Musical Identity," Appietus stressed in a recent Channel One TV interview that Reggie Rockstone need to be acknowledged and given credit for his innovative work in the early 1990s.

He said that Rockstone's foresight and inventiveness created the groundwork for a new generation of Ghanaian musicians that are now mainstays in the nation's entertainment sector.

Hiplife icon Reggie Rockstone has long maintained that he invented the genre, but a number of significant figures who made significant contributions to its development have challenged this assertion.

Appietus asserted, "Reggie Rockstone is without a doubt the father of hiplife." "He introduced a distinctive blend of hip-hop and highlife that connected with young people and spawned an entirely new genre of music.

Hiplife as we know it now would not exist without Reggie's revolutionary work." Renowned as the "Godfather of Hiplife," Reggie Rockstone made a splash with his critically acclaimed and commercially successful debut album "Makaa Maka" in 1997.

Hits like "Keep Your Eyes on the Road" and "Sweetie Sweetie," which blended modern rap lyrics and beats with traditional Ghanaian sounds, were included on the album.

Appietus also emphasised Rockstone's importance outside of music production, pointing out his effect on the young of Ghana's culture and identity.

"Reggie provided young Ghanaians a voice and a means of self-expression; he accomplished more than merely develop a genre. He made it fashionable to honour our heritage while remaining relevant in the world of music," the man remarked.

The contributions of pioneers like Reggie Rockstone are crucial to comprehending the origins of the genre and its influence on Ghana's cultural environment as Hiplife celebrates its history and continuous progress.
