Artists don't become cheap because of event promotion videos, according to Empress Gifty

Empress Gifty, a well-known gospel performer from Ghana, supports the idea of artists making promotional films for the events they are contracted for because it doesn't make them cheap.

Artists don't become cheap because of event promotion videos, according to Empress Gifty

The "Awiey3" singer said, "Times are changing in the digital area, and artists must understand and play to its dictates," on UTV's United Showbiz on July 29.

Empress Gifty said that the advent and popularity of social media platforms like Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter, among a host of others, has altered the way that events are marketed, with promotional videos serving as an effective method of exposure.

Even with the church today, if you are invited to a program and you don't make a promotional video, they won't believe you will attend the event until they see videos to confirm your commitments so that they can use the video to hold you accountable if you don't show up as previously agreed.

Therefore, for the time being, at least in the modern period that we are in, videos are a part of advertising efforts. Whether or not it is in the contract is irrelevant. It wasn't initially, but it is now. And it's good for the artist, so I don't believe it's too much of a burden," she added.

Because of the modern methods, Empress Gifty advised musicians to always be aware of the requirements of event organizers and, in most cases, contract terms when solicited for performances.

"As an artist, you should review the contract provided by event organizers so that you may let them know if there is anything you don't agree to or can't do.

For instance, you should let them know and understand if you can only produce one promotional film for the event rather than three.

"The time and the quantity of people you'll be bringing are also crucial. If you help them understand, you won't feel pressurized, but if you agree to the terms of the contract but act differently, that leads to miscommunication," stated Empress Gifty.
