Police Officer Arrested For Describing Palace As Dirty

The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Alhaji Shani Alhassan has confirmed that the police officer who described the Lamashegu Chief Palace as ‘’dirty’’ and the residents as ‘’animal’’ has been arrested and would be arranged before the court.

Speaking in an interview with a local TV station Zaaa TV this morning, the Honorable revealed how the police officer has found himself in hot shoes.

According to the Regional Minister, what the Police officer said could disturb public peace and he will not allow this to happen under his watch as Regional Minister.

The Police officer made these comments on social media in reaction to last Sunday's disturbance at Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale.

The disturbance started after a Police patrol team chased a driver who was driving an unregistered car to the Chief Palace and shot him.

The decision by the Police angered irate youth in the area who started pelting the Police with stones.

7 persons were injured in the disturbance with one of them dying later due to the injuries he suffered from the gunshot wounds.

He is expected to be charged with a misdemeanor.
