Jermaine Beckford believes Frank Lampard does not have the needed knowledge required to transform Chelsea into a winning team.

According to the former Chelsea trainee, the manager was not supposed to overhaul almost the Blues entire squad instead, he should have stuck with majority of the younger ones, strengthening the squad with a few key players.

Frank Lampard has struggled to integrate his squad with the new arrivals making it tough to put games to bed.

The Blues were eliminated in the Carabao Cup at Spurs 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in full time. They have also dropped five points in the Premier League following their 2-0 loss to Liverpool and a 3-3 draw at the Amex with Brighton & Hove Albion last Saturday.

Lampard has so far invested more than ‎£200m for the services of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Willian left for Arsenal after he the club failed to offer his desired contract extension as Ross Barkley on Wednesday joined Aston Villa for a season loan to enjoy much playing time.

According to the Sports pundit, Lampard’s recent squad have been disrupted and lost focus with the inclusion of the new players to the former, who haven’t got much time to train together.

Speaking on The Sports Bar, the talkSPORT pundit said: “Do I think Frank’s the guy? If I’m honest, I don’t.

“I don’t think he’s got enough experience for it yet, and I think that’s the main problem he’s going to encounter.

“I think people are going to constantly compare him to people who have won the Premier League prior to him at Chelsea. There’s a lot of pressure coming with him.

“I think he should have stuck with a lot of the younger players that he inherited last season because they didn’t have any money, he put the young boys in and they did fantastically well for him.

“I think he may have upset the squad a little bit, the morale of the squad, with all these new players he’s brought in.”

Kai Havertz and Timo Werner are yet to score in the Premier League after three games, having registered their names on the scoresheet in the League Cup.  They are ninth on the league table with four points.
