The Barcelona loanee will start his rehabilitation programme in about two weeks.

Philippe Coutinho has been troubled by injury since he switched from the camp Nou to Germany after both clubs reached an agreement for a loan move.

He has so far failed to make an impact in Germany and is reportedly a target for several English Premier League clubs with Chelsea leading the race.

With the coronavirus pandemic having halted football activities across the world, th Brazilian thought it was the best time to undergo surgery and by the time it is safe to resume, he would have recovered.

His former side, Liverpool have shown no interest of bringing back Coutinho to Anfield which leaves Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs in the race to land the 27 years old.
