Bono Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asare Bediako Seth has attributed the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases to complacency on the part of Ghanaians.

Speaking with Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark in the Morning monitored by Soireenws, the NPP communicator noted Ghana’s commendation for measures she adopted to deal with the pandemic and would not have witnessed the new variant if the people had strictly observed the protocols.

He was reacting to the President’s commitment to dealing with the rise of the covid-19 cases in the country.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has said the government would soon announce projects and programmes in the upcoming mid-year budget to help create some 1 million jobs.

The Minister of Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta Atta, is expected to present the mid-year budget review for the 2021 Financial Year in Parliament on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

The jobs, according to the President, will be under the Ghana COVID-19 Alleviation and Revitalization of Enterprises Support (Ghana CARES) programme and will be created over a three-year period.

President Akufo-Addo made the announcement during his message as part of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration at the national mosque on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

He suggested the strict measures to the adherence of the protocols must be reintroduced so that the country would be able to deal with the new variant cases.
