According to reports, the event took place in the Wakeley area today. In response to claims that multiple people had been stabbed, police stated that none of the wounds were considered life-threatening.

They said a man had been taken into custody and was helping them with their investigations. The weapon used in the incident, which is said to have taken place at the Christ The Good Shepherd Church, was not immediately apparent.

A man in black clothes is seen approaching the bishop in the sermon's livestreamed footage before it looks like he strikes him.

Then there are shouts of fear and attempts to intercede from several more people.

"The injured people suffered non-life threatening injuries and are being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics," the police said in a statement.

The neighborhood is asked to stay away from the area. Days before, at a mall in the same city, six people were slain by stabbing. A policeman later shot and killed the attacker. Nothing suggests a connection between the two events.
