Three Communities Benefit from Zongo Development Fund in the In North East

The West Mamprusi Municipality has benefited hugely from the fund which includes a Six Unit Classroom block at the Walewale Girls Modern School, an Astroturf Football pitch at Walewale, and about Six (6) Mechanised Water System which is at the completion stage.

Managers of the Zongo Development Fund (ZODF) has handed over Mechanised Water System to the people of Duu, Wulugu and a Six Unit Classroom Block to Misho Community all in the West Mamprusi Municipality In North East Region.

The Deputy CEO of the Zongo Development Fund, Alhaji Baba Sadiq advised the beneficiary communities to make good use of the infrastructures.

The MCE of the West Mamprusi Municipality, Mr Arimeyaw Somo commended the secretariat of the Fund and the Akufo Addo government for initiating those projects in the Municipality.

He noted that the West Mamprusi Municipality has benefited hugely from the fund which includes a Six Unit Classroom block at the Walewale Girls Modern School, an Astroturf Football pitch at Walewale, and about Six (6) Mechanised Water System which is at the completion stage.

He assured that residents of the area will make good use of the facilities and ensure they are maintained properly. 

Speaking on behalf of the Members of the Community, Mr Seidu Iddrisu expressed profound gratitude to the Government, H.E Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Zongo Development Fund for the initiative.

 ‘’ZoDF has completed not one but three projects in our District. A Mechanised Water System at Duu, a Six Unit Classroom Block at Misho, and a Mechanised Water System at Wulugu," he said.

"We use to walk about 4 miles before getting portable drinking water, now our women and children don’t have to travel that far anymore. We are very grateful for these projects and we will continue to pray for more and more."

According to him, they will continue to appreciate the Akufo Government and Zongo Development Fund for developmental projects brought to their communities.

The delegation from the Zongo Development Fund included Mr Arafat Sulemana Abdulai, Dr Samuel Kwadwo Frimpong, Economic Advisor, Office of the Vice President.
