The Techiman Municipal Chief Imam of Ahlu Sunni Muslims, Alhaji Iddrisu Suleman Abdullah, has described as a shame the crime tag on Islamic names of most culprits in criminal cases.

"It is sad to note that names behind robberies and violence are Islamic and this is worrying and against the tenets of the religion," he said and advised Muslim youth to avoid being used for political violence.

Alhaji Abdullah appealed to well to do Moslems to help develop the Zongos with educational, health and other necessary amenities to help shape the youth to become useful citizens.

He was addressing members of the sect at Gyarko School Park in Techiman on Tuesday during the special prayers to mark the 2021 celebration of the Eid al-Adha festival.

The Chief Imam also called on Muslims to steer away from alcoholism, fornication and any other immoral acts during the celebrations in order to attract the blessings of Almighty Allah.
