Kai Havertz arrive for International Duty

Chelsea have agreed a fee on Kai Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen.

Sky Germany has reported that the English and Bundesliga club have settled on a deal worth €80m plus €20m in add-ons for Havertz.

The 22-year old is on national assignment as Germany prepares to play Spain and Switzerland on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

The player will soon undergo medicals after which he will be officially confirmed as a player for the Blues.

Havertz, before he reported to the national team earlier said his final goodbyes to teammates with the reaction of not returning for Leverkusen’s preseason ahead of the Bundesliga season, which begins on Friday, September 18, 2020.

The Die Werkself have also enquired of Malang Sarr from Chelsea and requested for a loan move for the former Nice younger defender who signed a five-year contract for the Blues last Thursday.

Chelsea will allow the French defender to go on loan as they seek to develop him into a matured and complete asset for the club in the future.

Kai Havertz will be the fifth major signing of Frank Lampard after Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva.
