Thiago Silva is close to joining Frank Lampard’s project which will take flight in the soon to start Premier League campaign on September 12, 2020.

The Brazilian ended his reign at the Parc De Princess following his side’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Sunday night in Portugal and will soon agree a year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Paris captain was denied a new contract in June and is set to leave the club now, aged 35. He is yet to become Frank Lampard’s third signing after the acquisition of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner as Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz transfers are nearing completion.

Thiago hopes to compete in the next World Cup tournament and requires a respectable platform to execute his mandate for nation.

 "That was my last match for Paris. I'm sad. I apologize to the supporters and thank all the fans for their love. I'll come back to Paris, this club I love, in another role. I want to play another three or four years and play in the World Cup in Qatar [in 2022]," he said.
