310 Students Left Ayafuri  Senior High  School ...Due To Lack Of Education Infrastructural Facility

The majority of the students have left Ayafuri Senior High School due to a lack of education infrastructural development facilities.

The Ayanfuri Senior High School (SHS) which is a category C Day School and one of the best senior high schools in the Central Region at Ayanfuri of Upper Denkyira West District are seriously facing challenges of school educational infrastructure facility.

These challenges need urgent measures to be taken by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to fix the problem.

According to the Assembly Member for Ayanfuri Electoral Area, Honorable. Kwabena Annin Castrol, the situation which was known to the Upper Denkyira West District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service and traditional authorities is adversely affecting the teaching and learning of both students and teachers.
Speaking in an interview with some senior journalists yesterday via a telephone call, Honourable Castrol lamented over the numerous challenges facing the school since it was established.

Mr. Castrol disclosed that Ayanfuri Senior High School which was built in the year 2012 by the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West Constituency, Honorable Benjamin Kofi Ayeh has no education infrastructural facilities.
According to him, the school since its establishment has no hostel, dormitories, dining hall, Assembly Hall, vehicles, Teachers' quarters, and not even a  bicycle has been provided.
He further revealed that two years ago he invited the office of the Upper Denkyira West Education Directorate GES and asked them to tour the facility to have second-hand information about the situation.
He stated that when GES's top shot went back with the report, they never heard any response from him or neither the GES of Upper Denkyira West Education Directorate.
The Assemblyman stated that the majority of the students have been withdrawn from the school due to the challenges the school is facing.
For his part, the head of department and business of the Ayafuri Senior High School, Mr.Bofa Isaac is also speaking to this reporter about the challenges facing  Ayanfuri senior High school.
According to him, they started the school in 2012 with five hundred and thirty (530) students and lamented that the students' population has drastically reduced to the total number of two hundred and twenty (220) attributed to the lack of enough cf education infrastructural facility in the school.
He stated that the school was established in 2012 and that the students' and teachers' accommodation has been a problem including teaching and learning materials, no toilet facility, and so many other challenges.
"The government always posted the students like five hundred to the school and that immediately the new students entered into the campus which is in its deplorable state then they seize schooling.
He stressed the urgent need for the Ministry of Education to impress upon the GES to fix the problem in the school to make the school a good learning place for the students.
He pointed out that the situation is affecting the academic progress of the school which is one of the best senior high schools in the country.

Scores of the students who spoke to this reporter on condition of anonymity stated that 
they feard of learning in an environment that was not conducive.
"We are appealing to our President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come to our aid to solve our school infrastructural development challenges for us before he leaves the power," the students stressed.
The Senior Housemaster of the school added that the existing classrooms of the school were non-spacious and the main road linking the town and the school is in a bad state and the dusty nature is posing health danger to the students and teachers.
"Our classrooms were too small so we asked the government to devise measures to bring the situation under control." the headmaster of the school stressed.
