Lawlessness Of Anyimah Kodom Must Stop Now, He Not A Chief Of Bibiani—Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II Breaks Silence (Part One)
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II
THE  PARAMOUNT Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area in the Western North Region, who doubles as the President of National House of Chiefs (NHCs), Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has broken silence by stating that there is no a substantive chief in Bibiani enclave which is under his chieftaincy jurisdiction as their traditional custom demands.

"Ngoah Anyimah Kodom is currently styling himself as Bibianihene but he is not, from time immemorial, Ngoah Anyimah Kodom was installed as a Odikro of Kyikyiwere, and we have historical documents and evidence from chiefs list of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area in the national archives which justified that. All these historical documents clearly show that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom is not a Bibianihene
According to supreme traditional ruler, although he never played a leading role in the installations of various divisional and sub-chiefs in the areas, the historical documents have indicated that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom who is currently parading himself as a chief in Bibiani is an imposter chief and a trouble maker.
Mincing no words, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II
warned him to end the increasing act of his lawlessness in the area, stressing that the members of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council have taken a bold stance on fighting lawlessness, outlining a raft of crucial resolutions aimed at curbing this destructive practice.

He blamed the self-styled chief who was the then former chief of Kyikyiwere and Krotihene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council for masterminding and feuding the recent chieftaincy dispute despite his awareness that he does not qualify to be the legitimate chief of Bibiani.
In this regard, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II called on the general public, particularly, the citizens and residents of the area not to continue to accord the Bibiahene chieftaincy title to Ngoah Anyimah Kodom again.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II comment comes after Ngoah Anyimah Kodom accused him for trying to influence the Registrar to expunge his gazette extract from the register of the National House of Chiefs (NHCs).
"Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll is using every means to do whatever he thinks he can do to discredit me, but his evil agenda has hit the wall," Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II told journalist.
"So lam saying that all the allegations and accusations levelled against me lam not a chief of Bibiani or being the kingpin of the trouble makers in the area are not true and if you are looking for someone who does not speak the true, it is no person than Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll," he stated.
But speaking in an interview with Soireenews.
com, to further clarify the matter, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll rubbished the allegations levelled against him by Nana Kodom.
He reaffirmed that the historical records in the area indicate that Nana Kodom was once installed a chief of Kyikyiwere and Krotihene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council.
The Omanhene was quick to state that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom was destooled by accredited elders and principal kingmakers of Kyikyiwere on charges of impropriety as the custom demands, cited gross disrespect he meted out to his chieftaincy authority as the supreme traditional ruler in the area.
He explained that the principal kingmakers and elders of Kyikyiwere have officially informed the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council about the destoolment of Nana Kodom.
The prominent traditional ruler maintained that since Nana Kodom was destooled as the chief of Kyikyiwere, the accredited and principal kingmakers and elders have installed a new chief under the stool name, Anarfi Abebio, who swore the oath of allegiance to him as the Omanhene  of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council.
"Ngoah Anyimah Kodom who is currently parading himself as the chief of Bibiani is using his illegal chieftaincy position to be formeting series of unnecessary troubles and confusional in the area," Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II disclosed.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II also refuted allegations levelled against him by Ngoah Anyimah Kodom to the effect that he [Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II] has ordered the Registrar to change his chieftaincy extract form.
"This was completely untrue and lies, he said nothing that "l am not playing any leading role to influence the Registrar to change the extract of Ngoah Anyimah Kodom from the National Register of the chiefs."
The prominent chief indicated that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom wrote an ill-fated letter to the National of House Chiefs, requesting the House to confirm him as the chief of Biniani.
Following this development, the paramount chief explained that the National of House Chiefs has written a letter back to the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council through the Western North Regional House of Chiefs to get confirmation from the traditional authorities on the letter that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom has written to NHCs.
According to Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council has replied to the letter, showing series of the historical documents to justify that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom is not a substantial chief of Bibiani.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II said there are various documentary evidence in the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council which indicated that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom was installed in 1992 and subsequently gazetted as the chief of Kyikyiwere who doubles as the Krotihene of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council.
"If Ngoah Anyimah Kodom is currently claiming to the general public that he is a genuine chief of Bibiani, why is it that on his gazette he secured from the NHCs, he writes Kyikyiwere/Bibiani. So you cannot be a Chief in Ga State and same time a chief of Kumasi," Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II blasted Ngoah Anyimah Kodom.
"If what we wrote in our letter to National House of Chiefs to set the record straight on the matter was not genuine, Ngoah Anyimah Kodom should have taken us to the law court by now," the Omanhene added
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II narrated how a letter was written by the predecessor of Ngoah Anyimah Kodom to the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council who requested in the said letter that the traditional authorities should confirmed him as a substantive Bibianihene, but it was declined and that "that was not even in my time."
The traditional ruler provided documentary proof to back their claim that Ngoah Anyimah Kodom's predecessor applied through the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council that the Omanhene has a traditional representative of Bibiani and that since he is a Krotihene and that the Omanhene should made him a substantive of Bibiani but his requested was rejected.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II was of the view at the time that the chieftaincy destoolment charges were not preferred against Ngoah Anyimah Kodom, the traditional rulers of the traditional council recognized him [Ngoah Anyimah Kodom] as the Krotihene and chief of Kyikyiwere.
"So as he was destooled we never recognized Ngoah Anyimah Kodom as the chief of  Kyikyiwere and Krotihene of the traditional area because another chief of Kyikyiwere, Anarfi Abebio has been installed to ascend the throne," he explained.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II expressed his  discontent with Nana Kodom’s statements, which he believes have fueled confusion and unrest in Bibiani.
The collective displeasure stems from Nana Kodom’s self-proclamation as the chief of Bibiani, a position contested by some traditional rulers of the area.
According to him, Nana Kodom lacks the rightful authority to speak on behalf of Bibiani, as he has not been officially installed as a chief within the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area.
The traditional leader say the recognized chief with the traditional and legal mandate over Bibiani is Anarfi Abebio, the chief of Kyikyiwere and Krontihene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II highlighted a legal dispute initiated by Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom against him and Anarfi Abebio which ultimately resulted in a court ruling in Anarfi Abebio’s favour, affirming his legitimacy as the rightful chief.
Moreover, Anarfi Abebio dismissed Nana Kodom’s claims regarding the history of Bibiani’s Independence Day celebrations.
Contrary to Nana Kodom’s assertions, the traditional leaders provided historical context, indicating that Independence Day celebrations in Bibiani predate 1996, as claimed by Nana Kodom.
They emphasized the significance of Bibiani’s role in Ghana’s independence, dating back to the Union Jack Flag era and the symbolic occupation of previously segregated areas by indigenous people on March 6, 1957.
Additionally, Anarfi Abebio condemned Nana Kodom’s alleged involvement in promoting hooliganism in Bibiani and neighbouring communities.
He attributed recent violent incidents, including fatalities, to Nana Kodom’s purported support of hooligans, particularly in resisting traditional rituals associated with a large-scale mining firm.
The prominent traditional leader cautioned Nana Kodom against speaking on behalf of Bibiani as its chief, stressing his lack of traditional and chieftaincy authority in the area.
"We have realized that Nana Kodom wants to be a gate clasher that is why he has made such publication creating false impression that some violet people are coming to cause trouble in Bibiani during this year's Independence day.
"So the action and inaction of Nana Kodom clearly shows that he [Nana Kodom] himself is planning to cause the trouble. And that he [Nana Kodom pre-empts or anticipates the event as if there is something going to happen at that day. God forbid, we shall celebrate this year's Independence Day at Bibiani without any trouble or confusion," Omanhene assured constituents.
According to the rich history of Bibiani, the declaration of Ghana’s Independence on the 6th of March 1957 gave their forefathers real freedom from the all-white employers in charge of Biniani’s first gold mining company.
The then “white employers” occupied well-structured bungalows which were a no-go area for the indigenes of the town."
The now Bibiani Independence Square was a segregated playing ground which was solely for the whites. They demarcated plush areas for their comfort while the indigenes were living in single rooms and under very harsh conditions.
It is said that on the day Ghana was finally declared free from colonialism, the indigenes of Bibiani took over the bungalows, clubhouses and other Whites-dominated areas as a real show of ownership.
Per the history handed over to them, 6th March 1957 gave their forefathers the real meaning of independence, freedom and ownership to occupy their land.
For the 63rd year, the celebration of Independence Day has been seen as a special day for the chiefs and people of Bibiani, it has become more than Christmas or America’s Thanksgiving on the 4th of July or the Easter Festival for the Kwahus.
