Kasoa Kas-City Lions,Leos Clubs donate to Weija Divisional Police Headquarters and the Kasoa Police Headquarters

The donation, which came off on Monday, August 21, 2023, saw the Kasoa Kas-City Lions and Leos Clubs donating to both the Weija Divisional Police Headquarters and the Kasoa Police Headquarters with assorted reflective vests to assist in visibility on the road particularly during the night.

The Kasoa Kas-City Lions Club together with the Kasoa Kas-City Leo Club of the Lions Club International, District 418 Ghana, have gone to the aid of the Weija Divisional Police Headquarters and the Kasoa District Police Headquarters.

The donation, which came off on Monday, August 21, 2023, saw the Kasoa Kas-City Lions and Leos Clubs donating to both the Weija Divisional Police Headquarters and the Kasoa Police Headquarters with assorted reflective vests to assist in visibility on the ro, ad, particularly during the night.

In an interview with Soireenews.com, the  Club President, Lion Darlington Oghenede, said the safety of the community's frontline workers, especially police officers, was of great importance, adding that they "recognized a need to enhance their visibility during duties at night and also in conditions where e low-light intensity was encountered.

The donation, according to him, forms part of the club's efforts in addressing the issue of visibility on the country's roads. While presenting the items, he expressed his outfit's appreciation for the continuous dedication the police force exhibits in safeguarding communities.

He, therefore, urged men in uniform to strive even more to ensure safety on the roads and communities to deal with unforeseen happenings.

"The safety of our community's frontline workers, especially our police officers, is of paramount importance. We recognized a need to enhance their visibility during night-time duties and in low-light conditions.

The donation of these reflective vests is our club's way of addressing this need and showing our appreciation for the continuous dedication the police force exhibits in safeguarding our community," said the Lion Darlington.

"Our primary aim is to bolster the safety of our officers while they're on duty. By providing them with these vests, we hope to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure they're visible during their operations. We want them to know that the community stands by them, values their service, and is willing to support them in any way possible", the Lions Club president assured.

He further assured that Lions Clubs International will always remain committed to the needs of the community.

Being its mission to empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding.

"While this donation is a significant step, we will continuously assess the requirements and feedback from our local police force. If there's a sustained need in the future, we are open to making such donations regularly.

However, our commitment doesn't end with just vests; we will always be on the lookout for various ways to support and uplift our community's welfare", he asserted.

The president urged Ghanaians to see the donation as a reminder that when resolved and united, tangible impacts could be made to foster safety and unity.

While ending his admonishing, he charged the officers, "Our esteemed officers, every day you put on your uniform, you demonstrate unwavering dedication to our community. Know that Lions International, along with the wider community, deeply value and appreciate your service. We stand by you, today and always. Let's keep collaborating for a safer, more prosperous community".

Both the police in Kasoa and Weija expressed their appreciation to Kasoa Kas-City Lions and Leo Clubs for the gesture done to them.
