The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, Honorable Gizzella Tetteh-Agbotui has officially been introduced to the Awutu Senya West District Assembly.

The sister of Hannah Tetteh who served as a member of parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency and Minister for Foreign Affairs was a government appointee for the District and chaired the Works sub-committee.

After polling 32,708 votes which represent 51.58% of the total votes cast under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the December 2020 polls over George Andah of the New Patriotic Party she took the opportunity on Wednesday to meet the Assembly for a formal presentation.

According to the Member of Parliament, Honorable Gizzella Tetteh  Agbotui, workers in the District Assembly must put their political attitudes aside and work as a team to move the District forward. She, therefore, urged all to work hand in hand for the progress of the District and better the welfare of residents.

"Its time we come together as a unit to discuss the progress of Awutu Senya. This is not about what political party you belong but in all, the District must come first before other matters. The District needs ideas from us all to continue developmental projects and what is best for the welfare of inhabitants.

"There must be a unity of purpose in the Assembly as the personal development of staff must be encouraged. I will also advise them to use technology for self-improvement."

Honourable Gizzella denounced the allegation of her involvement in the sale of a grader meant for the District. According to her, those claims are false and has no iota of truth.

On the issue of their ambulance given under the 'One Constituency, One Ambulance initiative' by the president of Ghana, serving other districts due to the unavailability of an ambulance bay at Awutu Senya, the MP called on the District Chief Executive to make sure the asset serves it given purpose.

The District Chief Executive, Honorable Stephen Kwame Quaye, a member of the incumbent government urged the Assembly to work together as a team regardless of political affiliations.

He promised to build an ambulance bay to accommodate the car recently located in Kasoa to serve inhabitants.

He assured the bay will be ready by next month.
