Nii Amo Dodoo Still has Power  Of Attorney Over Ayikai-Doblo Stool Lands
Nii Ayikai, Chief of Akunmanjeng Divisional Stool

A sinister plot hatched by some self-seeking individuals calling themselves elders and legitimate kingmakers of Ayikai Doblo in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region in a quest to destroy the reputation of the legal caretaker of Ayikai Doblo Stool lands, Nii Amo Dodoo aka Azonto has misfired.

The evil plan against Nii Amo Dodoo by these selfish individuals led by Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah Musah, Ato Amponsah and Raymond Ablorh has absolutely failed because almost all the majority members of the recognized royalty families which constituted Ayikai Doblo Stool under the Akunmanjeng Traditional Area in Ga Mashie have publicly and boldly came out to endorse the Power of Attorney (PA) being granted to Nii Amo Dodoo by the chief of Akunmanjeng Divisional Stool, Nii Ayikai III.

In this regard, the rightful principal kingmakers, accredited heads and elders of Ayikai Doblo sub- divisional stool who are custodial owners of Ayikai-Doblo Stool land, called on the general public to disregard and treat it with contempt.

It would be recalled Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah Musah, Ato Amponsah and Raymond Ablorh and their followers in that publication stated that Nii Azonto is a member of one of the three royal families called Kwe Fio We but his elders have not nominated him nor presented him to the composite royal family of three that installs chief at Ayikai Doblo.

They also said that the Akunmanjeng chief does not install chief at Ayikai Doblo and has no legal and constitutional authority over their lands to give anybody a Power of Attorney to be a caretaker of same.

But in a quick rebuttal, the kingmakers and elders who are allodial owners of Ayikai Doblo Stool lands has set the record straight on the matter and disabused the minds of the general public from the lies Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah Musah, Ato Amponsah and Raymond Ablorh and describing them.

According to them, the contents of the publication by these selfish individuals generally lacks historically facts of the Ayikai-Doblo, stressing that there are no court judgements that rubbishes Nii Amo Dodoo's 'power of attorney' as being claimed by these individuals.

"We are challenging Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah Musah, Ato Amponsah, Raymond Ablorh and their followers to come back again to make the public which date, the name of the court or name of the presiding judge who gave the judgement to the effect that Amo Dodoo's 'power of attorney was null and void,' the elders and kingmakers dared them.

According to them, although Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah, Musah Ato Amponsah,  Raymond Ablorh and their followers were in court wanted to secure an injunction against the power of attorney granted to Amo Dodoo, but there is no final judgement on the case.

They maintained that the Power of Attorney granted to Mr Dodoo to represent the Akumajen Stool in all matters relating to land transactions in the Ayikai Doblo community under Ga Mashie was still in force.

They added that the chiefs and elders of Akumajen Divisional Council have rather renew and empowered the PA to Mr Dodoo.

They pointed out that Alhaji Ibrahim Adjah, Musah Ato Amponsah and Raymond Ablorh were attacking the integrity of Mr Dodoo because he had stopped them from reselling lands in the area.

A one-page certified document dated November 18, 2013, with signatories of the Stool Secretary of Akumanjen Divisional Council of Ga Traditional Area, Nii Ayikai III, and Mr Decarlo Quainoo, indicated that “Nii Ayikwa III and his elders in Ga Mashie with the consent and concurrence of the chiefs of the Akumanjen Stool have appointed Mr Dodoo as the true and lawful Attorney of Ayikai Doblo Stool land.”

The document, which copy was chanced upon by Soireenews, states that Nii Amu Dodoo, who is a royal and a native of Ayikai Doblo in the Ga State, is now on behalf of Nii Ayikai III in charge of all matters relating to lands in Ayikai Doblo.

The document continues: “As part of his duties, he is to do all things whatsoever which in the opinion of my said Attorney shall be expedient to execute for me and on my behalf.”

“Mr Dodoo is also without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power to represent me as such customarily and legally in all matters that affect the stool interest,” the document added.

According to the document, Mr Dodoo is to commence, persecute, defend and answer all actions and other legal proceedings and demands touching on any of the matters in connection with Ayikai Doblo lands.

Speaking on the matter, the  Principal Kingmaker of Ayikai Doblo Sub-Divisional Stool, Nii Kweifio, on the behalf of the leaders of the area,  denied the assertion by Mr Musah Ato Amponsah and his followers that Akunmajeng chief does not have the capacity to install a chief for Ayikai Doblo and also cannot give Mr Dosoo a power of attorney as an Ayikai Doblo land caretaker.

He asserted that these people had made such statements out of ignorance of the traditional and chieftaincy structures of the Ayikai Doblo sub-divisional stool.

He stated that the Akumanjen Divisional Area of the Ga State was the head of the stool of which umbrella body recognised communities such as the Ayikai Doblo, Akraman, Okusibiade fall under.

He defended Nii Amo Dodoo that he has not masterminded the killing of anyone in the area, adding those making the allegations against Mr Dodoo were doing so to tarnish his name and make him look bad in the eye of the general public.
