Census emulators undertaking their tasks in rural communities of the Northern Region have been assured of complete safety in the combustion of their duties during the 2021 census.

The population and housing census which commenced on the 13th of June, 2021 nationwide has encountered many challenges in rural areas of the Northern Region.

Speaking to the Regional Statistician, Mr George Agbenyo, stated that the exercise is going on well but they have made provision for safety wears such as wellington boots and raincoats that will serve the emulators as protection during this rainy season.

He added that solar pads, power banks, and others will be provided emulators who will be conducting the census in areas where there is no electricity.

The Regional Director for the Ghana Statistical Service disclosed that thirty per cent of the emulator's allowances will be paid soon.

He also stated that caterers who provided food during the period of their training will be paid fifty per cent of their allowances in no time.
