I am A Perfect Replacement For Eastern Regional NDC Chairman; David Dakudzi Declares As He Picks Number Three On Ballot Paper
An aspiring Eastern Regional Chairman of the the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr David Dakudz has secured Number three (3) on the ballot paper following today's Friday October 16, 2026 balloting for the NDC Regional Chairman position, declaring that he is the perfect replacement for the Eastern Regional NDC Chairman.
The ballot position was determined on Friday October 16, 2026, during the NDC’s balloting exercise at the party’s Eastern Regional office at Koforidua, ahead of the regional executive elections.
Mr. Dakudzi will contest the chairmanship from the third position on the ballot, challenging the incumbent NDC Eastern Regional Chairman, Dr. Klovor, who is seeking re-election.
Securing the number three position has added an interesting twist to Mr. Dakudzi’s latest bid to win the party's Eastern Regional chairmanship race.
Mr. Dakudzi successfully passed the vetting process after officially filing his nomination forms to contest the position of Eastern Regional Chairman for the NDC.
His submission marks a significant milestone in the regional leadership race, drawing widespread celebration and enthusiasm from grassroots supporters and party members across various constituencies who gathered to witness the filing process.
Mr. David Dakudzi, who previously served as the NDC Eastern Regional Organizer, is seeking to lead the party as Chairman.
He is determined to reorganize the NDC's structures and strengthen its electoral fortunes ahead of future elections.
The various chairmanship aspirants will now campaign from their respective ballot positions as they seek to convince delegates of their ability to unite and reposition the party.
The December Eastern Regional executive election will determine the next group of NDC Regional executives, as the party elects officers to lead its regional affairs for the next four years.
According to Mr. Dakudzi, he is running to win the Eastern Regional chairmanship position to restructure the party’s front in the region, ensuring it remains formidable enough to win more parliamentary seats in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with the Africa TODAY NEWS newspaper after completing the vetting procedures and drawing number three on the ballot, Mr. Dakudzi insisted that the ballot position would have no negative bearing on the final results.
He informed delegates and party faithful that he had picked number three, which he considers a sign of God's blessing.
He stressed that the number three has made his choice clear, saying, "The journey to victory begins here."
Factual evidence indicates that thousands of grassroots members and supporters of the NDC across the 33 constituencies in the Eastern Region have rallied behind the aspiring regional chairman, Mr. David Dakudzil
They argue that Mr Dakudzi he is the most qualified candidate for the role, despite claims from critics in the academic and master’s degree camp who point out that Mr. Dakudzi does not hold a university degree.
According to them, the continued attacks on Mr. Dakudzi’s academic qualifications by supporters of other regional chairmanship aspirants are intended to undermine his leadership capacity.
They pointed out that this clearly shows how the critics of Dakudzi’s academic qualifications got their propaganda wrong; being a political leader does not require an academic degree or a master's, as true leadership is a gift ordained by Almighty God.
The NDC grassroots members and supporters further argued that academic qualifications alone should not be the measure of a person's leadership ability,
Grassroots members and supporters of the NDC have dismissed statements from the academic and master’s degree camp as childish.
He asked those attacking professional qualifications of Mr Dakudzi should consider how many party faithfuls and delegates with degrees hold voting power.
They questioned whether these voters possessed academic or professional degrees before casting their ballots in various local, constituency, and executive elections within the party.
"Does this mean only degree holders should vote for degree holders in the upcoming Eastern Regional executive elections? Let us see who loses at the end of the contest," the grassroots supporters fired back at Dakudzi's critics.
They further argued that supporters from the degree-holding camp cannot insult the integrity of contenders without high academic qualifications, while simultaneously expecting delegates and party faithfuls without degrees to vote for their candidates.
"If the delegates and party faithfuls are farmers and business owners who do not hold degrees, they still retain their voting rights. Are these critics trying to say that party members who didn't attend school or earn degrees are not welcome by degree holders? Is that what they mean?" they asked.
They pointed out that while the incumbent NDC Chairman in the Eastern Region holds a master's degree, his academic achievements have brought little to the grassroots across the region's constituencies.
They stressed that the incumbent's performance has been abysmal compared to the numerous initiatives David Dakudzi has already brought to the party in the region..
Furthermore, they pointed out that for the upcoming NDC regional executive elections, delegates and party faithful should vote for someone like Mr. Dakudzi—someone with a good heart who is selfless, submissive, approachable, respectful, responsive to calls, and financially capable of restructuring the party's foundation to win more seats in the region.
According to them, available evidence shows that Mr. Dakudzi is a leader who does not prioritize personal gain, but instead focuses on building a stronger party and empowering grassroots members and youth.
They maintained that among all those vying for the position, Mr. Dakudzi has the strongest financial capacity to willingly allocate personal funds to provide logistical support and resources.
They stressed that these intended support will make the party attractive to floating and disgruntled voters, helping the NDC secure a massive victory in the 2028 general elections.
"We wish to acknowledge Honourable Dakudzi as someone who can truly support grassroots members and supporters across all 33 constituencies in the Eastern Region.
"In this regard, we are calling on delegates and party faithful to choose Mr. Dakudzi as our new chairman to help strengthen structures across every constituency," the party's grassroots members and supporters stressed.
They noted that Mr. Dakudzi has been instrumental in supporting the NDC in the Eastern Region over the years, including in 2014 and 2016, and will do even more if elected as the new NDC Eastern Regional Chairman.
Describing Mr Dakudzi as a renowned philanthropist, they emphasized that he has single-handedly used his own business earnings to support traditional authorities, youth, students, and NDC grassroots members throughout the Eastern Region.
