SOIREENEWS USER ACCOUNT AND SECURITY POLICY
Effective Date: 01-01-2019
Last Updated: 06-28-2026
ARTICLE 1 – PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
This User Account and Security Policy establishes the standards governing the creation, administration, protection, verification, use, suspension, recovery, and security of user accounts on the SoireeNews Platform. The purpose of this Policy is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user accounts while promoting a secure environment for readers, authors, editors, publishers, advertisers, business partners, moderators, and other authorized users. Because user accounts provide access to publishing tools, monetization services, advertising systems, personal information, payment functions, and other sensitive resources, maintaining strong account security is essential to preserving public trust and protecting the integrity of the SoireeNews Platform.
This Policy should be read together with the SoireeNews Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Standards Policy, Copyright Policy (DMCA), Author Monetization Policy, Advertising Policy, Cookie Policy, AI Content Disclosure Policy, and all other policies governing the operation of the Platform. By creating or using a SoireeNews account, every user agrees to comply with this Policy.
ARTICLE 2 – SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
This Policy applies to every account created or used through the SoireeNews Platform, including reader accounts, author accounts, editor accounts, moderator accounts, publisher accounts, advertiser accounts, administrator accounts, contractor accounts, business partner accounts, subscriber accounts, and any other authenticated account providing access to Platform services.
The Policy applies regardless of whether the account is accessed through the website, mobile application, application programming interfaces, administrative systems, publishing dashboards, advertising portals, customer support systems, or any other service operated by SoireeNews. Every individual who accesses an authenticated account is responsible for complying with the requirements established in this Policy.
ARTICLE 3 – ACCOUNT ELIGIBILITY
Individuals creating a SoireeNews account must possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under the laws applicable within their jurisdiction. Where minimum age requirements apply, users represent that they satisfy those requirements or have obtained legally sufficient parental or guardian authorization where permitted by applicable law.
Users shall provide accurate, complete, and current registration information during the account creation process. SoireeNews reserves the right to require identity verification, age verification, business verification, or other documentation reasonably necessary to establish eligibility for particular services, including author publishing privileges, advertising accounts, or participation in monetization programs.
Submission of false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent registration information may result in rejection of the registration request, suspension of account privileges, permanent account termination, or other enforcement action consistent with the Terms and Conditions.
ARTICLE 4 – ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
To access certain services, users may be required to register an account by providing information reasonably necessary for identification, communication, authentication, security, and account administration. Registration information may include a legal name, username, email address, telephone number, password, country of residence, language preferences, payment information where applicable, and other information necessary for operation of the requested services.
During registration, SoireeNews may verify the authenticity of the information provided through email confirmation, telephone verification, identity verification procedures, or other reasonable authentication measures designed to protect Platform security. Users remain responsible for ensuring that registration information remains accurate throughout the lifetime of the account.
Account registration does not guarantee access to every feature of the Platform. Certain services, including publishing privileges, advertising programs, administrative functions, and monetization opportunities, may require additional verification or approval before becoming available.
ARTICLE 5 – ACCOUNT OWNERSHIP
Each account is personal to the individual or organization in whose name it is registered. Users may not create accounts on behalf of another individual without lawful authority, impersonate another person or organization, or otherwise misrepresent their identity during registration or subsequent use of the Platform.
Unless expressly authorized by SoireeNews, user accounts may not be transferred, sold, leased, assigned, licensed, inherited, or otherwise conveyed to another individual or entity. Organizations managing business accounts remain responsible for ensuring that authorized representatives use the account only for legitimate business purposes consistent with this Policy.
SoireeNews reserves the right to require proof of account ownership whenever disputes arise regarding access, control, recovery, or administration of an account.
ARTICLE 6 – USER RESPONSIBILITIES
Every user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials and for all activity occurring through the account unless otherwise required by applicable law. Users shall take reasonable precautions to protect account security, including selecting strong passwords, maintaining updated contact information, safeguarding authentication devices, protecting recovery information, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
Users shall not knowingly permit another person to use their account, share passwords, disclose authentication credentials, circumvent security controls, or otherwise compromise account security. Users are expected to monitor account activity regularly and notify SoireeNews immediately if they become aware of suspicious activity, unauthorized access, attempted account compromise, or any other security incident involving their account.
Failure to maintain appropriate account security may increase the risk of unauthorized access, identity theft, financial loss, or compromise of personal information. Users remain responsible for taking reasonable measures to protect their own devices and internet connections while accessing the Platform.
ARTICLE 7 – PASSWORD SECURITY
Strong authentication is an essential component of account security. Users should create passwords that are sufficiently complex to resist unauthorized access and should avoid using passwords that are easily guessed or reused across multiple online services. Passwords should be maintained confidentially and should never be shared with unauthorized individuals.
Where technically supported, SoireeNews may establish minimum password requirements relating to length, complexity, uniqueness, expiration, or reuse limitations. The Company may also require password changes following suspected security incidents, unauthorized access attempts, credential compromise, or other circumstances affecting account security.
Users remain responsible for safeguarding passwords and authentication credentials. SoireeNews shall not be responsible for losses resulting from a user's failure to protect account credentials or from unauthorized access caused by user negligence.
ARTICLE 8 – MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION
To strengthen account security, SoireeNews may provide or require Multi-Factor Authentication ("MFA") for certain categories of accounts or Platform services. MFA enhances security by requiring users to present two or more independent forms of authentication before access is granted, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized account access resulting from compromised passwords.
Multi-Factor Authentication may involve one-time verification codes, authentication applications, hardware security keys, biometric verification where supported, trusted devices, or other authentication technologies approved by SoireeNews. Certain high-risk accounts, including administrative accounts, editor accounts, monetized author accounts, advertiser accounts, or accounts with elevated privileges, may be required to maintain MFA to continue access.
Users are responsible for safeguarding authentication devices, backup recovery codes, and related authentication credentials. Loss of authentication devices should be reported promptly to SoireeNews so that appropriate account recovery procedures may be initiated while protecting account security.
ARTICLE 9 – ACCOUNT VERIFICATION
To protect the integrity of the SoireeNews Platform and safeguard its users against fraud, impersonation, unauthorized access, and other security risks, SoireeNews may require account verification before granting access to certain services or features. Verification requirements may vary depending upon the type of account, the services requested, applicable legal obligations, risk assessments, or other legitimate business considerations.
Account verification may be required before users are permitted to publish articles, participate in the Author Monetization Program, purchase advertising, receive payments, access administrative functions, or utilize other sensitive Platform features. Verification procedures are intended to confirm that the individual or organization creating or operating an account is the legitimate owner of that account and is authorized to access the requested services.
Completion of verification does not guarantee permanent access to all Platform features. SoireeNews reserves the right to require additional verification whenever circumstances reasonably indicate that further authentication is necessary to protect users, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or investigate suspected violations of Platform policies.
ARTICLE 10 – IDENTITY VERIFICATION
For certain categories of accounts, including monetized author accounts, advertiser accounts, publisher accounts, business accounts, administrative accounts, or accounts engaged in financial transactions, SoireeNews may require verification of the account holder's identity. Identity verification assists the Company in preventing fraud, protecting readers, complying with applicable laws, and preserving confidence in the authenticity of published content.
Identity verification may include the submission of government-issued identification, business registration documents, tax records, proof of address, photographs, or other documentation reasonably necessary to establish identity or legal authority. The Company may also use trusted third-party identity verification providers to assist in confirming the authenticity of submitted information.
All identity verification information shall be handled in accordance with the SoireeNews Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. Access to such information shall be limited to authorized personnel or approved service providers with a legitimate business need. Submission of fraudulent, altered, expired, or misleading verification documents may result in immediate suspension, permanent account termination, denial of monetization eligibility, forfeiture of unpaid earnings where permitted by law, or other enforcement action deemed appropriate by SoireeNews.
ARTICLE 11 – EMAIL AND PHONE VERIFICATION
Email address verification and telephone number verification serve as important security measures designed to confirm account ownership, facilitate secure communications, support account recovery, and reduce unauthorized account creation. Users may be required to verify their email address by responding to verification messages or to verify their telephone number through one-time security codes or comparable authentication procedures.
Failure to complete required verification procedures may limit access to certain Platform features, including publishing privileges, commenting, payment requests, account recovery, advertising services, or participation in the Author Monetization Program. SoireeNews reserves the right to suspend unverified accounts where verification is required for security or legal compliance purposes.
Users are responsible for maintaining current and accurate contact information. If an email address or telephone number changes, the user should promptly update the information through available account settings or other approved procedures. The Company shall not be responsible for missed notifications, delayed security alerts, or account recovery complications resulting from outdated or inaccurate contact information provided by the user.
ARTICLE 12 – ACCOUNT RECOVERY
SoireeNews recognizes that users may occasionally lose access to their accounts because of forgotten passwords, lost authentication devices, changes in contact information, or other unforeseen circumstances. The Company provides account recovery procedures intended to restore legitimate access while protecting accounts from unauthorized recovery attempts.
Account recovery may require verification of account ownership through previously verified email addresses, telephone numbers, identity documents, recovery codes, security questions where supported, payment records, or other information reasonably necessary to establish ownership. Recovery requests may also be reviewed manually by authorized personnel when additional verification is required.
The Company reserves the right to deny account recovery requests where ownership cannot be established with reasonable confidence or where recovery attempts appear fraudulent, deceptive, or inconsistent with available account records. Users should promptly report the loss of recovery credentials so that appropriate protective measures may be implemented.
ARTICLE 13 – UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS
Users shall notify SoireeNews immediately upon becoming aware of any unauthorized access, suspected compromise, credential theft, unauthorized publication, fraudulent activity, or other security incident affecting their account. Prompt reporting enables the Company to investigate potential threats, limit unauthorized activity, preserve evidence where appropriate, and protect both the affected account and other Platform users.
Upon receiving notice of suspected unauthorized access, SoireeNews may temporarily restrict account functionality, require password changes, invalidate active login sessions, require additional verification, enable enhanced monitoring, or implement other reasonable security measures designed to protect the account while the incident is investigated.
Although SoireeNews employs commercially reasonable security safeguards, users acknowledge that no online service can guarantee absolute protection against cyber threats. Users remain responsible for maintaining secure passwords, protecting authentication devices, using trusted networks, and taking reasonable precautions to safeguard their own systems and credentials.
ARTICLE 14 – SECURITY MONITORING
To maintain the security, reliability, and integrity of the Platform, SoireeNews may continuously monitor account activity, authentication events, system access, publishing activity, payment transactions, administrative actions, technical logs, network traffic, and other operational information reasonably necessary to identify potential security threats, fraud, abuse, or policy violations.
Security monitoring may involve automated detection systems, behavioral analysis, anomaly detection technologies, intrusion detection systems, access logging, fraud prevention tools, malware detection, and manual review by authorized security personnel. Monitoring activities are conducted for legitimate business purposes, including protecting users, enforcing Platform policies, maintaining service availability, and complying with applicable legal obligations.
Information collected through security monitoring shall be processed in accordance with the SoireeNews Privacy Policy and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to support security operations, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.
ARTICLE 15 – SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Where SoireeNews reasonably detects activity that appears inconsistent with normal account usage or suggests possible fraud, unauthorized access, automated abuse, identity theft, account sharing, credential compromise, or other security risks, the Company may initiate additional security procedures without prior notice. Such activity may include unusual login locations, repeated failed authentication attempts, abnormal publishing behavior, rapid changes to account settings, suspicious payment activity, excessive automated requests, or other indicators suggesting potential account compromise.
Depending upon the circumstances, SoireeNews may request additional verification, restrict specific account functions, delay payment processing, temporarily suspend publishing privileges, require password changes, invalidate active sessions, or implement other protective measures reasonably necessary to investigate the activity. Users are encouraged to cooperate fully with legitimate security investigations and provide requested information promptly to facilitate timely resolution.
The implementation of security measures should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing but rather as a precautionary response intended to protect both the affected account and the broader SoireeNews community.
ARTICLE 16 – ACCOUNT SUSPENSION FOR SECURITY REASONS
SoireeNews reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or temporarily disable user accounts whenever the Company reasonably believes that such action is necessary to protect the security of the Platform, its users, its business operations, or the public. Security-related suspensions may occur where credible evidence suggests unauthorized access, credential compromise, identity fraud, payment fraud, malware activity, automated attacks, policy circumvention, or other threats affecting Platform integrity.
Whenever reasonably practicable, SoireeNews may notify affected users regarding the reason for a security suspension and provide instructions regarding verification or account restoration. However, advance notice may be withheld where immediate action is necessary to prevent ongoing harm, preserve evidence, comply with legal obligations, or protect the confidentiality of security investigations.
Temporary security suspensions shall remain in effect only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate the incident, verify account ownership, restore secure operation, or otherwise resolve the underlying security concern. Where investigations determine that serious violations have occurred, the Company may impose additional enforcement measures, including permanent account termination, monetization restrictions, referral to law enforcement authorities where appropriate, or other actions authorized under the SoireeNews Terms and Conditions and related policies.
