North Tongu NDC Chairman Hopeful Outlines Ambitious Vision; Pledges To Transform Constituency 

Aspiring Chairman for the National Democratic Congress in the North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region, Mr Leonard Mensah Gamedoagbao, has outlined an ambitious vision and mission, vowing to unite the party's rank and file in the constituency ahead of the 2028 elections if given the mandate to win the NDC Chairman race in the area.

In 2025, Mr Gamedoagbao ran for North Tongu District Chief Executive. Previously, he served as a North Tongu Constituency Executive Member in 2022, and he is also the branch chairman at the New Covenant Church in Volo Gborgame.

According to him, the NDC in the constituency needs a selfless, approachable, and committed Chairman to unite all members, supporters, and floating voters to win and sustain the seat in the next general election.

He stated that, as a well-known grassroots person, he has an effective, workable vision to provide inclusive and accountable leadership.

 This leadership aims to unite the people, strengthen party structures from the polling stations to the constituency level, and deliver victory for the party in 2028.

Mr. Gamedoagbao added that his clear mission demonstrates his ongoing strategies and commitment to prioritizing unity, grassroots strength, welfare, the youth, and a winning political machinery.

With a three-pronged slogan—"Unity in the base, victory at the ballot," "Grassroots strength, seat secured," and "Your chairman, your servant"—Mr. Gamedoagbao called on delegates and party faithful to vote for him. 

He aims to restructure the party and attract floating voters to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.

He added that he is willing to lead the NDC in the constituency to victory in the polls.

“We want to definitely reward our members, we definitely want to draw up the agenda to sustain our seats. It is not just about winning seats, but sustaining them. And I must say that we are all in this country, and we are witnessing what is happening. 

Mr. Gamedoagbao who is an engineer with the Ghana Highway Authority, where he currently serves as the Road Area Manager further assured to set up an effective welfare scheme for registered members of the party when given the nod.

Apart from that, he said, a well-coordinated logistics delivery system for the party would be in place to ensure the timely delivery of party paraphernalia in the various communities.

Meanwhile, the young outspoken politician said the party agents for the polling stations would be trained to enhance their writing skills, and to be vigilant to promptly detect fraud on the part of opponents of the NPP, and any irregularity at the polling stations.

According to him, the NDC’s chances of winning the 2028 general elections are bright because the majority of Ghanaians have seen major changes in their communities due to the current NDC government's efforts, under President Dramani Mahama, to undertake massive social and infrastructural development projects and programs."

“But we will not leave any stone unturned in our move to victory,” he added.

The chairman hopeful said as a priority, the youth would be actively involved in every political and set development agenda of the party.

Mr. Gamedoagbao asserted that the creations jobs for young people was high on his agenda, “and we will motivate them to lift the flag of the NDC to greater heights and transform the constituency.
