Dr Opong-Fosu Announces Nationwide Campaign Tour Starting Monday in Volta Region
Aspiring National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, has announced the start of his nationwide campaign tour in the Volta Region on Monday, November 2, 2026.

According to the local government expert, the decision to begin the nationwide tour in the Volta Region recognizes the region's historic loyalty, sacrifices, and immense contributions to the growth and electoral success of the NDC.

He stressed that his decision also acknowledges the region's strategic importance to the NDC's future.

Dr. Opong-Fosu stated that the visit is intended to engage party stakeholders, listen to their concerns, and share his vision of consolidating gains, protecting the achievements and legacy of President John Dramani Mahama, and positioning the NDC to retain power in the 2028 general elections and beyond.

The engagement will bring together regional and constituency executives, delegates, branch executives, party elders, cadres, former and current Members of Parliament (MPs), former and current government appointees, and other key party stakeholders.

Through these interactions, the campaign hopes to build consensus around a stronger, more united, and inclusive NDC, guided by the 3Vs—votes, voice, and viability—ensuring that grassroots members and supporters are recognized, heard, and economically empowered.

Dr. Opong-Fosu represents the leadership experience the NDC needs at this critical moment.

As a founding member of the NDC, former Member of Parliament, minister of state, and accomplished public administrator, he understands the party's foundations, its grassroots structures, and the demands of political leadership.

His proven experience, institutional knowledge, and commitment to party unity make him the ideal choice to lead the NDC in consolidating its gains, safeguarding its political future, and securing victory in 2028 and beyond.
