Girl,16, attends school with her 3 month old baby

Bertha Egyema Andoh, a 16-year-old, SHS one student attends school everyday with her 3 month old baby. 

The 16 year old mother who is a student at Mando Senior High School in the Central Region got pregnant when she was writing her BECE. Her family members tried to dissuade her from advancing her education but she was determined to continue because she passed her BECE and also has a dream of becoming a nurse.

According to Bertha, her mother had a cerebrovascular accident six months after the death of her father.

Since she has nobody to support her,  Bertha usually gives her baby to her Aunty who is a cook in the school and will Intermittently call her to breastfeed the baby.

Bertha is pleading for support from NGOs and other stakeholders to assist her in accomplishing her dream.
