An anti-Galamsey Activist, Mr Tweneboah Kodua is urging President Akufo-Addo to first take concrete actions against New Patriotic Party(NPP) officials involved in Galamsey or the fight will be lost.

He alleged that a number of top government and party officials are involved in illegal mining undermining the efforts of the government to deal with it.

Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Mr Kodua explained that, the government must name and shame any government official who will be caught in Galamsey activities to serve as a deterrent to others.

He also alleged that a number of government officials and some traditional rulers are involved in illegal mining.

He indicated that since the government started its fight against Galamsey, there are those who have described the fight as a charade because according to the government, it is acting blind to NPP and state officials who are involved in the act that is wreaking havoc on the environment.

He noted that the burning of seized excavators is not the best. He added that there are a lot of projects that the seized excavators can be used for, therefore the excavators must be kept at the various municipal or district assemblies for other purposes which will be beneficial to the government and the country at large.
