The Ninfahene of Techiman Traditional Area urged the government to applaud GNAPS for their immense contribution to the educational level in Ghana in terms of providing quality education to Ghanaians.

The Bono East's Ghana National Association of Private Schools, GNAPS, have inaugurated their new executives.

The ceremony which was held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in the region's capital, Techiman, was grazed by some national executives of GNAPS led by the National Vice Chairman, Mr John Afrane and was chaired by the Aduanahene who doubles as the Ninfahene of Techiman Traditional Area, Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pemtbrem II.

Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pemtbrem II, ceased the occasion to congratulate the new executives and urged them to be professional in discharging their duties.

He prayed to the government to throw more support to private schools, saying although their schools are not state-owned, they have also helped improve the standard of education in the country.

On behalf of the Bono East regional Educational Directorate, the Regional Personal Officer, Twene Adu Asare, said the Educational Directorate duly recognize the good deeds of private schools in the region and the nation at large.

According to him, the directorate expects the new GNAPS Bono East Regional executives to continue to collaborate with the regional Education Directorate for the betterment of students in private schools in the Bono East regional.

Addressing the newly sworn-in executives, Mr John Afrane urged them to support the growth and progress of all private schools in the region and the nation by keeping at the back of their minds that, their positions as regional GNAPS executives is voluntary work.

He further prayed to the government to introduce at least a technical subject in all Senior High Schools to prepare SHS graduate for the job market should they complete their second cycle of education.

On behalf of the new executives, the regional Chairman, Mr Joseph Soregan pledged that he and his executives will fully cooperate with the Ghana Education Service to help improve the standard of education among private schools in the Bono East Region.

He assured all that, his administration has the interest of students and The Ghana National Association of Private Schools at heart and they will discharge their duties with the utmost professionalism.
