The Chief of the Ashifla community, Nii Aye Mowaamo (I) told that the Ghana Water Company has refused to come to their aid as a result of the destroyed water bodies.

The Chief of Ashifla in the Oboam Domeabra constituency, Nii Aye Mowaamo (I) says his community is tired of drinking salty water.

According to him, series of letters have been presented to the Ga South Assembly and the Municipal Chief Executive, HonourableJoseph Nyarni Stephen but they are yet to receive any response from the Assembly.

The community which occupies 2,000 inhabitants depends on a14 Bole- Holes which produces salty water that is detrimental to the health of the people.

They are appealing to Non-Governmental Organisations(NGOs) to come to their aid because their reliance on the Ghanaian government has failed following numerous pleas toward politicians.

The Chief of the community complained that Ghana Water Company has dismissed any assistance from them due to the damaging effect of Galamasey activities which has destroyed the water bodies in the area.

He is appealing to Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as a matter of urgency to fulfil their problem.   

Ramadan is still in progress, Nii Aye  Mowaamo (I) took advantage to advise the Zongo youth to be holy and refrain from contradicting sins.
