Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor has cautioned the residents to immediately stop indiscriminate littering and disposal of waste in gutters and other unapproved sites in the constituency.

The workaholic MP issued these warnings when he mobilized hundreds of thousands market folks and youths including EMENYO group to embark on massive communinal labour in Tongor-Dzemeni market.
During the course of the communal labour, Honourable Dafeamekpor also donated one thousand (1000) pieces of cement blocks and other building materials to support the market folk to construct several urinals and staircases in the Dzemeni Market. 
The MP as part of the exercise donated ten (10) sets of 150watts LED Street lights and paid for their immediate installation to improve security at night as well as improve night activities of the women in the market to improve security situation in the market.

The market folks were are grateful to God Almighty for making these things possible.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, the  some stakesholders in Tongor-Dzemeni lauded the MP in his quest to embark on cleanliness campaigns at Tongor-Dzemeni and called for the collaboration of the individuals to eradicate filth from the area.

They, however, called for education of residents to ensure cleanliness in their surroundings.
They further called on state institutions to enforce the  bye-laws on sanitation to check the menace.
They stressed that they believe that the citizenry has the leverage to generate waste but until bye-laws on sanitation are enforced, indiscriminate littering and disposal of waste in gutters and other unapproved sites would not cease.

The opinion leaders observed that there had been so much waste in the immediate environment due to congestion and over-population in the sense that commercial activities kept increasing by the day.

They, however, attributed the engulfing filth in the immediate environment to administrative failure on the part of state institutions responsible for waste management.
