THE CHAIRMAN for Original 18mu Traders Union in the Kejetia Market, Mr Johnson Kwabena Ankrah has challenged the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to make it all possible to complete the Kejetia Phase  2 market before 2023.

Failure to complete the project, according to hm, would affect the NPP electoral chances in Kumasi since the party would not" have anything in the Ashanti Region to campaign with for the 2024 general elections."

He indicated that the NPP government has really failed Ashanti Region with all the promises and assurance the party gave.

"..So this is the only project they can boost off but it has become a standstill project," he noted.

He added that,the part of the market which was destroyed by fire has caused most women or traders become jobless because the government has given a dumb ears to reconstruct it for them to have their stores to do their work.

In an interview with journalists, Mr Ankrah made clear that,the management of Kejetia City Market are not ready to provide the needed support to the traders for their safe living. 

He pleaded with the government and management of the market to consider their needs so it will help them have peace of mind in doing their work.
