Journalists Accuse NDC Central Regional And Awutu Senya East Executives Of Mishandling Them
THE Central Regional and Awutu Senya East Constituency  Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Awutu Senya East Constituency  Executives have been accused for subjecting some senior journalists from various media houses in the region to severe mishandle, amidst tension and confusion in the region.

These NDC executives led by one Kwesi and Daniel were reported to have meted out gross disrespect to the journalists during the sharing of transportation allowance popularly called 'Soli' after a press conference held on Sunday June 9, 2024 at Cheater Football Camp of Kasoa.
The crowded press conference which was addressed by the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu, was aimed at addressing matters arising in the Awutu Senya East Constituency in connection to the votes transfer exercise.
The press conference was also thrown more light to the  pressing situation when the Awutu Senya East Constituency executives alleged that over seventy-one ( 71)  soldiers have been deployed to Winneba to re-register their names in the voter register, after they are done with their special voting.
The event also tackled the stabbing incident by saying that the so-called minister's son after stabbing is enjoying former President John Dramani Mahama’s medical crib and the NDC guy was sent to a poly clinic with poor treatment.
However, it was emerged the affected media practitioners who  represented some media houses in the Central Region claimed that they were mistreated and denied their rightful share of the transportation allowance allocated for coverage of the press conference.
According to the journalists, they had honored an invitation to cover NDC's press conference held at Kasoa, only to be treated with gross disrespect when it came to sharing of the transportation allowances provided for their transportation.
They alleged that the party officials, particularly Daniel and Kwesi selectively
gave money to their favourite journalists,
while others were ignored or given paltry sums although they were all officially invited to cover the press conference.
The journalists described the incident as "unacceptable, selective justice and "disrespectful," stating that they had endured similar mistreatment from the NDC in the past.
They demanded an apology and fair treatment, emphasizing that their work deserved respect and fair compensation.
The senior journalists have condemned the NDC's actions, urging the party to prioritize ethical behavior and respect for journalists.
"Journalists deserve fair treatment and compensation for their work. We will not tolerate any form of disrespect or discrimination against our members,"
the affected media personnel told Soireenews.com.
They stressed that Kwesi and Daniel should be properly investigated by exhibiting these actions which have caused embarrassment to the party which is working assiduously to win political power in the 2024 general elections.
These two men--Kwesi and Daniel were reported to have been seen to go the backyard to consult themselves and subsequently removed some of the money which was already packaged in an envelope and used their discretion to give out "small money" to the journalists.
"These are some of the big challenges we the media personnel in the region are going through in the hands of the leadership of the NDC. The fact of the matter was that whenever the executives of the NDC in the region have organized events and invited journalists to come and cover, some self seeking executives of the party who are in charged of paying transportation allowances would take advantage to either "chop" part of soli of the journalists.
"We are tired of these continuous criminal attitudes being practiced by these executives so today we are calling on the leadership of the NDC in the region to wake up from their slumber to ensure that they put in place proactive measures to help address these issues because these matters have potential to affect the cordial relationship between the NDC and journalists in the region," the journalists complained.
"We must draw attention on how all the executives of the NPP in the Central Region are media freely. Whenever we have been invited to cover their events, he NPP executives have treated journalists very well but when it comes to the NDC, the treatments meted out the journalists at their events are bad to say," the journalists stressed.
