A 21-student is receiving medical attention wifo Praso Hospital after susstaining a machete wounds from a confrontation over an alleged disputed GHS5.00 debt.

The 21-year-old who was a final-year student of Hemang Technical Institute identified as Kweku Nkrumah, was mercilessly butchered over a disputed debt of ₵5.

The sad incident is reported to have occurred in Jukwa Wawase, within the Twifu Hemang Lower Denkyira District of Central.

According to reports, the assailant identified as Salinko, a-45-year-old man.

The confrontation was said to have ensued at about 8:00 a.m. leaving the community shocked and state of mourning.

The mother of the butchered student identified as ,Esi Ghana, provided an account of the event that led to the tragic incident.

According to her, the said Salinko had accused Kweku of stealing his missing five cedis during a shared taxi ride from Jankoboo to Jukwa Wawase last Friday.

The confrontation between Salinko and Kweku continued till Sunday when Salinko confronted the young student, demanding the return of the alleged stolen money.

Unfortunately, Kweku’s refusal to comply with Salinko’s demands resulted in a brutal act of violence, leaving the promising student with fatal injuries. The 21-year-old is now receiving treatment at Twifo Praso Hospital.
