Passengers across the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region today Thursday, 15th September 2022 are stranded as drivers embark on a sit-down strike over a permit issued to a recalcitrant transport operator.

A visit to the various 48 transport terminals in the Metropolis saw drivers not working, including GPRTU and Metro Mass Transport Limited terminals.

In an interview, the stranded passengers appealed to the city authorities to address any issues in the transport sector in the Metropolis to bring the situation under control.

The stranded passengers are in waiting to see the drivers starting operations.

“The aggrieved transport operators are calling on the government to as a matter of urgency solve the issue amicably since the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly is not being fair”.
