Chief of Samlesi Weeps Over Deplorable Nature Of Samlesi Health Facility
The Chief of Samlesi at Upper Manya Krobo District in the Eastern Region, Nene Joseph Martey, has called on the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Honourable Bismark Tetteh Nyarko to consider renovating the dilapidated  health facility in the community to enhance quality healthcare delivery.
Nene Martey noted that  the Samlesi health facility served five different communities including Yilo Krobo and Tafo.
According to him, the facility had not seen any major rehabilitation since its construction, adding the facility required much attention from the  Ministry of Health.
He said the  health facility has only one wooden bed structure which admits patients.
Nene Martey said the facility really needed to be maintained as soon as  possible because people were missing out on some of the Services that are required to be administered at the facility.
The Chief bemoaned the living conditions of the health workers.
Rodents and bats co-habit with the health workers despite the fumigation exercise undertaken by the MP about two years ago.
The Dademantse was grateful to the MP for restoring power and water to the facility after fire caused a major  havoc to parts of the health facility two years ago.
For his part, Honourable Nyarko assured the Chiefs of mobilizing his share of the District Assembly Common Fund to renovate the health facility to create a friendly working environment that would motivate the staff to enhance healthcare delivery.
"I will do my best to work  as soon as possible to  alleviate the plight of the health workers" he said.
