Obapack Company donates anesthetic machine to Abrafi Hospital

The anaesthetic machine dispenses the gases that are necessary to induce sleep and prevent pain to humans and animals during surgical procedures or other potentially painful manipulations.

A private company in the Techiman Municipality, Obapack Company Limited has donated an anaesthetic machine worth GHC60, 000 to the Abrafi Women and Children's Hospital in Techiman.

This, according to Obapack is to support the hospital in to attend to operations n other emergency cases.

OBA Pack is a locally owned and operated business specializes in providing fresh produce and other food services to grocery and convenient stores, restaurants, schools, nursing homes, hospitals and wholesalers.

Ideally situated in Techiman in the Bono East Region of Ghana, the region renowned for its rich agricultural products. OBA Pack works in close collaboration with local farmers all around the country to produce and distributes long-shelf-life fresh products throughout the country.  

Speaking at the donation, the Marketing Manager for Obapack Company Limited Chris Addo Sarkodie indicated that, the company will only gain from Techiman if only the people living in the community are healthy and of a sound mind.

He said, his company will do everything within its power to give back to the community in any form within its strength. According to Chris Addo Sarkodie, the act is as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and not a market strategy.

"Techiman is now a Regional capital and Abrafi Women and Children's Hospital is the only Ghana Health Service Hospital here. Its very unfortunate operations are not done because of the lack of anaesthetic machine.

"As part of our corporate social responsibility, management deemed it appropriate to support the hospital with the equipment for the welfare of inhabitants in this region," he said.

 Receiving the item on behalf of Abrafi Women and Children's Hospital, Administrator for the facility, Richard Asamoah said the donation has come at the time facility was in critical need of an anaesthetic machine.

He assured that the facility will ensure make good use of the machine and ensure maintenance culture.
