Rotation nurses across the country have threatened to suspend their duties by October 1, 2021, to register their displeasure over their eight months locked up allowances.

At a press conference held in Kumasi, the programs and projects officer for Ghana Nurse - Midwife Trainee Association, Nana Agyei Sikapa stressed that since the assumption of duties in February 2021 till date, not even IPPD forms have been filled, neither to talk of staff ID and biometric registration for such nurses.

"Rotation nurses are suffering at their various posts"

He disclosed that rotation nurses are nurses who have sat for their licensure exams and been posted to various health centres by the National Service Secretariat to do their service.

They are therefore giving a one-day ultimatum to authorities to respond to their grievance or face their action.

He added that the 2019 batch who has completed their course are still in the house with no hope of posting after three years, they are therefore drawing the attention of the government to do justice to them.

Lastly, he bemoaned that, trainee allowances have also been locked up for many months up to 10 months and therefore demanding for immediate release as the government promised to do so.
