The famous Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's sacred dungeon, known as " Nkrumah volini" in Nyohini in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region of Ghana has been sold-out.

Dr. Nkrumah’s government had built the structure purposely as a warehouse for foodstuff and other storage purposes SN24 has learned.

The Nkrumah volini situated about three-hundred (300) meters away from the Abedi Pele roundabout in the early 90s and early 2000s, was a key place where some residents of Tamale used to scout for water.

Unfortunately, successive governments have abandoned it, which has made people forgotten about its existence.

Despite the many decades of situated at the site of clayey soil, mud, and water beneath it, the structure has withstood the threats of the water.

However, the Founder and Executive Director of the Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA) Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has bought part of the left-to-rot Nkrumah building situated at Nyohini.

He has bought the famous Nkrumah "volini" and is on a mission to give it a flame of artistic beauty.

While maintaining the natural form of the building, the artiste intends to use the place as another artistic center of wonder and astonishment.
