The National Communication Authority has commenced with the arrest of television owners operating their television stations without a legal license.

 The National Communication Authority as part of measures to sanitize the Ghanaian airwaves has announced that 49 television stations will be closed down for operating illegally.

A press release issued by the authority on April 21, 2021, read that "the National Communications Authority (NCA) has embarked on an exercise to shut down 49 television stations for operating without authorization".

It continues to highlight that "the move forms part of monitoring exercise conducted on various satellite free to air television platform using the broadcast monitoring system (BMS)and the radio spectrum monitoring system (RSMS)".

Most of the television stations affected by this move are that of pastors and churches as well as African traditional worshippers.

Rev Obofour's Kiss, Lion and Cash TV are affected together with Prophet Francis Kwarteng's Elijah TV+.

Earlier on Wednesday, the frontline for the money doubling scheme Patricia Asiedu popularly known as Komfo Agradaa was arrested by the National Security for Operating without a license.
