Whistle Blower Petitions CHRAJ To Investigate Ghana Revenue Authority For Covering Up Of Rot At Tema Port By A Senior Customs Officer Cum Businessman
Lawal Laah Fuseini, a Private Investigator and an anti-corruption crusader with more than six years campaign has petitioned Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for constitutional, statutory, and administrative breaches in respect of its conduct in the infamous"stolen Lexus saloon car with registration number GT 6565-15, involvement in cold storage businesses, corruption and misappropriation of Containers involved in import duty challenges.

The seasoned Private Investigator stated that his decision to petition the CHRAJ over the matter is in pursuance to the whistle blower Act 2006, Act 720, to draw the attention of CHRAJ to this anomaly from Ghana Revenue Authority with respect to the above issues.
In a two page petition dated May 7, 2024 which is in possession of Soireenews.com, the petitioner stated that CHRAJ assumes jurisdiction over the issue of conflict of interest against Mr. Augustine Atta Adubofour the senior customs officer in the case of the stolen Lexus saloon car with registration number GT 6565-15, his involvement in cold storage businesses against the GRA rules, corruption and misappropriation of Containers involved in import duty challenges.

He indicated that it was clearly showed that the GRA condoned wrong by usurping the constitutional mandate of CHRAJ and cleared the senior customs officer Mr. Augustine Atta Adubofour, of crimes they had earlier
established against him.
He indicated that all those involved, linked or conspired to contravene the constitution of Ghana be dealt with as by law established.
The petitioner indicated his readiness to
to assist CHRAJ  in all formed possible as the Commission deemed fit to get to the bottom and to put this matter to the rightful conclusion.
However, the petition which was headlined
; "REPORT OF COVER UP, CORRUPTION, CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND THE USURPATION OF COMMISSION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE JUSTICE SOLE MANDATE TO DEAL WITH CONTRAVENTIONS OF THE PROVISONS OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE 1992 CONSTITUTION (ARTICLE 284) reads in part " In 2021 I uncovered some rots at Tema port together with some colleagues and petitioned some state institutions including the Office of the Special Prosecutor, and the National Security Secretariat, over the issues uncovered.
We investigated a suspected case of stolen Lexus saloon car with registration number GT 6565-15, the involvement in cold storage businesses, corruption and misappropriation of Containers involved in import duty challenges.
Our investigative report was later broadcasted by Onua TV morning show, hosted by Captain
Smart.
The Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, set up a committee to delve further into the issues uncovered. Onua tv morning show host, Captain Smart, the producers of the show and myself, the lead investigator, were invited by the committee to assist them in their investigations.
We did appear and provided undisputed evidence on the issue. The investigative committee’s report to the Commissioner General established conflict of interest against the Senior Revenue  Officer, SRO, Mr. Augustine Atta Adubofour, of the Customs Division stationed at Tema Port.
To our surprise instead of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, referring the case to the
Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice, CHRAJ, as required by law, they constituted a disciplinary committee to deal with the issue in contravention of the provisions of the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
That committee chaired by Assistant Commissioner, Mr. Cephas O. Lamptey, cleared SRO, Mr. Augustine Atta Adubofour, of any conflict of interest.
In view of this and other matters, which are serious affront to the constitution, I indulge the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice, CHRAJ, to investigate my concerns and address the following relieves:
1.That CHRAJ assumes jurisdiction over the issue of conflict of interest against Mr.
Augustine Atta Adubofour the senior customs officer in the case of the stolen Lexus
saloon car with registration number GT 6565-15, his involvement in cold storage
businesses against the GRA rules, corruption and misappropriation of Containers
involved in import duty challenges.
2.GRA condoned wrong by usurping the constitutional mandate of CHRAJ and cleared the senior customs officer Mr. Augustine Atta Adubofour, of crimes they had earlier
established against him.
3.That all those involved, linked or conspired to contravene the constitution of Ghana be
dealt with as by law established.
I am available to assist you in all formed possible as the Commission deemed fit to get to the bottom and to put this matter to the rightful conclusion.
