Water shortage has hit Northern Business Senior High School in Tamale.

The school has been battling a water crisis for more than 3 months now.

Learners are forced to spend contact hours in search of water to drink, cook, wash, and bath.

They told SN24 News in an exclusive interview that the situation has affected their academic performance.

“We report late to class after spending so much time to search for water and even we have to move to the neighbouring communities or houses around the school sake for water.”

The students declared that most of them have always boycotted baths before classes and others do not even go at all due to the inaccessibility of water.

The problem has encouraged lateness, truancy, inattentiveness, and sleeping in class due to fatigue as most of the students go to search for water late in the night.

They appealed to non-governmental organizations, philanthropists, and corporate organizations to come to the aid.
