NDC Vice Chair Hopeful Tours Ashanti And Eastern Regions Hails Mahama’s Government Road Network Improvements

The National Vice Chairman hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edem Segbefia has praised the government of President John Dramani Mahama for its remarkable contributions to road networks, as well as the achievements and improvements in the Ashanti and Eastern regions.

Following his tour of the Ashanti and Eastern regions to meet with NDC delegates and grassroots members ahead of the December 2026 national executive elections, Dr Segbefia commended the government for its remarkable achievements, improvements, and contributions to the road networks.

This commendation by Dr. Segbefia was contained in a press statement copied to the African TODAY NEWS Today. 

In it, theNDC firebrand he called on NDC supporters and members to set aside minor differences, support the NDC and President Mahama's government, and work together so that everyone can benefit from the power they hold.

Message to NDC Grassroots in Ashanti and Eastern Regions from the Dr Edem segbefia Vice chairman hopeful

Comrades and fellow NDC faithful, During Dr Edem segbefia Vice chairman hopeful recent visit to the Ashanti and Eastern Regions, I saw firsthand the strength, commitment, and hope that still lives in our grassroots base. You are the engine of this party, and it is to you I bring this message.

The government led by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama is doing fantastic work to reset this country and put the people first. Let me share with you what is already happening on the ground:

1. Infrastructure Development 

Road networks are being improved across the country. From feeder roads to major highways, communities that were cut off are now being reconnected to markets, schools, and health facilities.

2. Healthcare Access and NHIS  

Access to healthcare is being expanded, with the introduction of free primary healthcare popularly know as Mahamacare, and the National Health Insurance Scheme which was on its knees is now paying reimbursements promptly. This means hospitals and clinics can serve you better without the delays that used to frustrate both patients and health workers.

3. 24-Hour Economy.

The 24-hour economy initiative is underway with markets being constructed across the length and breadth of the country. Industries have been invited to submit proposals under the 24-hour project, and this will create jobs, extend business hours, and give our youth more opportunities to work and earn decent incomes.

4. Economic Reforms and Cedi Stability  

Through bold economic reforms, the government has stabilized the cedi and restore confidence in the economy. This is easing the cost of doing business and made life more predictable for traders, farmers, and ordinary households.

5. Education and Agriculture 

The Free SHS policy is being improved to make it more effective and sustainable. In agriculture, we are seeing renewed focus on farmer support, and serious reforms are being undertaken in the cocoa sector to protect our farmers and secure their incomes.

6. Public Sector Reform 

Public sector efficiency is being strengthened so that government services work better for you. The goal is simple: less bureaucracy, more delivery.

Comrades, these are not small achievements. They are the foundation for a stronger Ghana and a stronger NDC.

This is why I plead with all of you at the grassroots to support His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to succeed. The longer the NDC stays in power, the more Ghanaians will benefit. And I say it clearly – the grassroots will benefit hugely if we stay long in power.

When the NDC is in power, it is you at the branches, the wards, and the communities who feel it first. Jobs, contracts, projects, and opportunities flow from a party that remembers its base.

So I urge you: look at the bigger picture. Put aside small differences, support the NDC and this government, and let us work together so that everyone of us benefits from the power.

The reset agenda is working. Let us protect, defend, and make sure it delivers for the people who built this party.
