The Ghana Education Service has been charged to include civic education and responsibility in the school curriculum to ensure national development.

The Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu Banahene made this observation when he addressed the media at the inauguration of the Youth Parliament on Tuesday, September 14, 202 held at the Sunyani Technical University.

Speaking on Youth Unemployment in the country, she implored authorities to inculcate socio-cultural values in schoolchildren to prepare them into being citizens who are capable of building the nation at all levels.

Madam Justina is advocating for huge investment into technical and vocational training to help provide the youth with knowledge and skills for employment.

Technical and Vocational training according to her is recognized to be a crucial vehicle for social equity, inclusion, and sustainable development.

She urged the youth to be more pragmatic than theoretical to make them relevant in their field of career.

The Regional Minister also urged the media and all relevant stakeholders to promote Technical and Vocational training.

She again called on all and sundry to religiously comply with the safety protocols of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

This she believes is the surest way to defeat the virus and bring the number of active cases to its barest minimum.

She also urged the citizenry to look out for each other to ensure national growth.
