I don’t know all about Azugu; ask IGP Interior Minister

Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry has told Parliament he is unable to confirm whether DSP Samuel Azugu was recalled back to the police service following the recent assault on Citi FM Journalist or on the basis of the Emile Short Commission recommendation.
The Minister was answering a question filed by Mr Ernest Norgbey, MP for Ashaiman asking why DSP Azugu remains at post at the Ministry of National security as head of the SWAT team even after the Emile Short Commission recommended that his secondment to that be revoked.
According to him, DSP Azugu has been recalled from the ministry of national security back to the police service by the IGP.
However, a follow-up question from the MP for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini asked on which basis DSP Azugu was recalled, Mr. Dery said he cannot answer that.
“Mr Speaker, I cannot answer this question. The Inspector-General of Police James Oppong Boanuh is in the best position to respond to this” he stressed.
