Akufo Addo's Nominees for Bawku and Pusiga Assembly Confirmed

Hon. Abdulai pulled 15 “YES” votes out of 22 valid votes cast, representing 68.18 percent, while seven Assembly Members, representing 31.82, voted “NO.”

Akufo Addo's Nominees for the Bawku Municipality and Pusiga have received endorsement from members of their respective Assemblies.

The President's nominee for the Bawku Municipality, Hon. Hamza Amadu on Tuesday pulled 28 valid votes out of 29 total votes cast to emerge as the Chief Executive for the area.

The Bawku Central was thrown into a state of jubilation immediately Hon. Amadu was declared victorious by the Electoral Commission in the Municipality.

In his victory speech, he assured members of the Assembly of his quest to operate an open-door administration, and solicit ideas of all well-meaning indigenes of the area to attract the needed development to the Municipality.

He expressed appreciation to His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the confidence reposed in him to occupy the position of Chief Executive for the Bawku Municipality.

Prior to the confirmation of Hon. Amadu, the Pusiga District Assembly also confirmed the incumbent District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Hon. Zubeiru Abdulai for a second term.

Hon. Abdulai pulled 15 “YES” votes out of 22 valid votes cast, representing 68.18 percent, while seven Assembly Members, representing 31.82, voted “NO.” 

The re-elected incumbent DCE in his victory speech expressed gratitude to His Excellency the President and  Members of the Assembly for the opportunity to serve the Assembly for the second time.

He noted that “We are bound by nature to step on toes of one another in one way or the other,” and used the opportunity to appeal for forgiveness and call for peace among all Assembly Members and officials to speak up the development agenda of the government.
