Tamale: Central Mosque Youth Patriots Welcomes Akufo Addo's Northern Region MMDCE's Nominees

Deputy Secretary of the youth group has called on affiliates with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region not to venture into vandalism if they have problems with the presidential nominees, but rather support and accept the President's decisions for accelerated development.

The Central Mosque Youth Patriots, a Youth Group affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tamale of the Northern Region says they have accepted President Akufo Addo's MMDCE's nominees in the region.

The announcement of various municipal and district Cheif executives have been met with mixed reaction both from members of the governing new patriotic party and the general public.

At a press conference over the appointment of the MMDCE's nominees and to commend the President for appointing engineer Kwabena Agyei Agypong, CEO of the Ghana Ports and Harbor; Deputy Secretary of the youth group, Mr Haruna Ibrahim stressed the need to present a united front especially on the side of the youth wing.

He admonished the new MMDCEs nominees to reach out to their colleagues who couldn't make it to the final list because of the battle ahead for the party come 2024.

Mr Haruna called on youth groups affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region not to venture into vandalism if they have problems with the presidential nominees, but rather support and accept the President's decisions for accelerated development.

According to him, the group has confidence in the nominees and will accord them the needed support.

He however condemned the destruction of party properties in the Chereponi District yesterday Sunday by some irate youth of NPP over  President Akufo Addo's failure to nominate their choice.

He congratulated the nominee for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Sule Salifu, but was quick to add that the nominee has loads of work including sanitation problems in the Metropolis awaiting.

On behalf of the group, he further appealed for jobs and opportunities from the leadership of the party.

Madam Mariam Kelly alias 'Princes' used the opportunity to thank President Akufo Addo for appointing  Kwabena Agyei Agypong as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Ports and Harbor.

According to her, Kwabena Agyei Agypong has conducted himself very well, hence he deserves the appointment.

She further reasoned with the Akufo Addo's nominee for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Sule Salifu, stating that he is a true party man.
