The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio has challenged that independent candidates’ participating in the electoral process does not frighten his chances, rather they help to bolster their campaign strategies; a directive which always leads to his victory since 2004.

Per his account, no political party can compete with the New Patriotic Party in either the Presidential or parliamentary accessing the work of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in his three and half years. He opened that the New Patriotic Party is aimed at gaining 90 per cent of votes as compared to last term’s 81.

“We (NPP) has no size in the Nwabiagya North. Judge from our works and compare if a political party has done more than what the NPP has implemented. Before I was a politician, independent candidates were always contesting for power to represent this constituency aside the NDC but materialized.

“Since 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and now 2020. Independent candidates strengthen us to do more and work hard during campaigns. The interesting part is that, after elections, no independent candidate will be seen at the coalition centre, which means they don’t even trust their involvement.

“Previously, the NPP had 81 per cent of votes cast and wants to extend it to 90 per cent,” he added.

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources on Friday, October 9, 2020, commissioned an ambulance bay funded by the Stool Lands and Physician Assistant’s residence at Barekese.

He uttered during the press briefing that the incumbent government are so far executing 1,015 projects in the District within their three and half years; a statement of intent towards constituents that when the NPP is given a second term, much will be done to uphold the welfare of Ghanaians.

“Works are ongoing from Abrepo to put the road in better shape, with the drainage system been fixed first. The former roads need to undergo a change and we have started with the gutters in order not to wash away the asphalt when done.

“The contractor at Achiase to Nketiah Amoaman has also started with the drains for the roads to take shape. NDC constructed a bridge at Asuofia Asamang and was later washed away by the waters. We have improved that bridge and soon the contractor will start with the asphalt. The people are a witness to it and very soon, the roads will also be completed.

“From Adankwame to Ntensere is undergoing immense roadworks. The base, drains and covets are all done and before elections, the coal tar will be successfully applied. Same from Akropong to Bokankye, the drain construction has started and will soon be completed. Fufuo to Adugyama has experienced coal tar and many other places.

“So far, we have done 1,015 projects in our three and a half years within the District. Our second term will be immense to implement our developmental projects. We are entreating our people to be witnesses of the job that has taken place in this Municipal and give Nana Addo a second term to do more.”
