Education has become an indispensable aspect of a civilized society.
The importance of education is being highlighted in all countries across the world. Developing countries like Ghana are focusing on educating their citizens with the aim of achieving sustainable social and economic development.
AngloGold Ashanti school was formed in Obuasi in 1961, currently, the school is 60 years and as part of its 60th-anniversary celebration, the school authority organized a float for both old and current students in August 27, in Obuasi to kick off the celebration.
The aim of this celebration is to bring together the students to see if the positive goal set by teachers has been better achieved by students.
The Director of the school, Peter Atta Cato speaking to Soireenews on stressed that Obuasi has been on top for the past years regards to educational performance in the Ashanti region which he (Mr Cato) can confidently say that AGA school is the cause of that positive achievement.
He added that as part of the AngloGold Ashanti 10 - year developmental plan, the school authority together with AGA are putting in measures to build an SHS with a modern Dormitory to enhance education in Obuasi and impact pupils life in Ghana.
Meanwhile, AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mine is fully determined of supporting the school to archive its positive goal.
On behalf of the sustainability department AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mine, Daniel Arthur Bentum Economic Development Supritendent AGA said, the mine is not leaving anyone behind adding that, the company has added up to the public schools in Adanse as part of its social intervention plans for the good people of Obuasi, Ghana and to the world at large.
