The Vice-Chancellor of the Sunyani Technical University (STU), Engineer Professor Kwadwo Adinkra-Appiah has stressed the importance of Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) Education in Ghana and the need to hold it in high esteem.

According to the STU Vice-Chancellor, the only way to transform Ghana’s economy is through TVET Education nothing more.

“When students patronize industry-driven programs such as TVET Education, it will help them set up their businesses to help accelerate the socio-economic development of Ghana”, Professor Adinkra-Appiah observed.

“And further obviate other institutions having the opportunity to produce too many graduates in already chocked sectors of the national economy which only exacerbates the existing high spate of unemployment in the country”, the VC stated at 2021/22 matriculation.
He added that in collaboration with Ghana Gas the University is embarking on electronic vehicle production.

He however called on investors to join the School in their solar power and electric vehicles by way of financial support to help speed up the realization and commercialization of the projects as the Institution has planned to set up an endowment fund for it in other to train other youth.
He also advised the students to comply with all the covid-19 protocols as vaccines are available for both new and continuing students, He finally entreated the students to desist from betting as some students in past have been using their School fees for online gambling.
