Elders Of Odumpong Ofankor Describe Citizens Of Ngleshie Amanfrom As Squatters- But Elders Of Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool Denies Allegations
The elders of the Odumpong Ofankor in the Central Region has called on the general public to disgard the claim by the elders of Ngleshie Amanfrom in Ga South municipality of the Greater Accra Region that they won the ownership over the 48 villages including Kasoa enclaves against Odumpong Ofankor Stool.

Addressing a press conference in Ofankor on Friday August 19, 2022, the elders stated that the claim made by elders of Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool to the general public that Kasoa is no longer under Central Region according to traditional boundaries but rather under Greater Accra region after Appeals Court judgement was not true.
They stressed that Ngleshie Amanfrom chief, Nii Kwashie Gborlo IV and his people are all squarters since 1972 after the Densu river took over their land.
The chiefs and people of Odukpong Ofaakor called on the government to intervene in a chieftaincy dispute between them and Ngleshie Amanfro.
The Odumpong Ofankor  Traditional Authority was worried over a purported judgement at the Court of Appeal in Accra that sought to cede portions of Kasoa which  belongs to Odukpong Ofaakor Divisional Stool to Ngleshie Amanfro Traditional Council in the Greater Accra Region.

The chiefs and people of Odukpong Ofaakor are accusing the Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool under James Town Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area in Accra of throwing dust into the eyes of citizens since the boundary of Ngleshie Amanfro ends at Iron City and not in Kasoa as they are perceiving.
The Spokeperson for the Odukpong Ofaakor Stool, Rev. Dr. Akotuah Obeng  noted that the former President Ignatius Kutu Acheampong gave the space to Ngleshie Amanfro to occupy for a while and later released to Odukpong Ofaakor which they have refused to do after the Densu river took over the then Amanfrom land in 1972.
In addition, the Tufohene who is the Head of Asafo company in Kasoa Odupong Ofaakor Traditional Area, Nai Kojo Magic waged war against Ngleshie Amanfrom.

He stressed that if they did not desist from the war drums they are playing.
"We are ready to match Ngleshie Amanfrom boot for boot if the government refuse to act immediately to settle the matter.
But when contacted the Chief of Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional Stool, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, he rubbshed the assertion by the chiefs and people Odumpong Ofankor Stool that the people of Ngleshie Amanfro land ended at Iron city.

He further denied allegations that the people of Ngleshie Amanfro are squatters, saying that the elders  of Odumpong Ofankor never knew donot the history of the land in the area, adding that they had traced the historical documents to the British which they used to support their claim, giving the legal backing to win the case against Odumpong Ofankor Stool.
"We are saying that chiefs, elders and youths of Odumpong Ofankor Stool are just making noise, l am telling them that if they have something to say about the judgement declared in the favour of Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool, then they should rather go to the law court and appeal to challenge the judgement.
"But the noise they are making in the media cannot win the case for them," the Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional chief schooled chiefs and people of Odumpong Ofankor Stool.
In this regard, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV urged all the land developers who had purchased lands within the towns and village within the jurisdiction of the stool in the 48 villages to come to the secretariat alone for the genuine land purchasing documents and other land re-regularization assistance.
He warned the land developers on the lands of Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool not to deal with middlemen for securing their various land title documents.

Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV reaffirmed  to the general public that the Court of Appeal in Accra has entered judgement in favour of elders of Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool over the custodian ownership of forty-eight (48) villages they are laying claim to which are located in the Ga South municipality.
He reiterated that appeal was described as a consolidated appeal against Justice Amorin’s earlier judgement against Ngleshie Amanfro Stool dated October 8, 1984, as well as Justice Mensah-Datsa’s judgement on June 12, 2018.
The judgement, delivered by the Justices of the Court of Appeal, in the persons of Justice G.S. Surbaareh, Justice Mrs. Merley Wood and Justice J. Bartels Kwadwo, who presided over the case with suit No H1/ 47/2021, brought finality on the long unending zone division of the land demarcation dispute between the elders Odumpong Ofankor Stool in the Central Region and James Town Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool in the Greater Accra Region.
The case, which has travelled since 1972, was about 50 years now. The claimants to the said villages include the elders of James Town Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool, Papaase Stool, Odumpong Ofankor Stool, Gomoa Fetteh Stool, Awutu Stool and Senya Breku.

Earlier, an Accra High Court declared a judgement against the Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool over the ownership claim of the 48 villages in the case involving the elders of James Town Ngleshie Amanfrom and Odumpong Ofankor which formed part of zone one of the land demarcation between the two communities.
That judgement stipulated that Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool Lands covered thirty-two (32) villages instead of its ownership claim of 48 villages.
After that judgement, the elders of the James Town Ngleshie Amanfrom were the only appellant against the judgement declared by Justice Mensah-Datsa dated June 12, 2018.

However, the other claimants such as Papaase Stool, Odumpong Ofankor Stool, Gomoa Fetteh Stool, Awutu Stool and Senya Beraku failed to join the appeal against the High Court judgement of the two judges.
Luckily the three Justices of the Court of Appeal in the persons of Justice G.S. Surbaareh, Justice Mrs. Merley Wood and Justice J. Bartels Kwadwo, presided over the case in their agreement on Saturday, July 7, 2022,entered the judgment in favour of Amanfrom Stool over the ownership of the 48 villages.
This clearly means that the remaining sixteen villages which have been removed from the 48 villages have now been added to 32 villages, making 48 villages being claimed by the elders of the stool.

Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV stated that the judgement declared in favour in the elders of Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional Stool against the elders of the Odumpong Ofankor Stool could not be used to battle the land purchasers or developers who  bought the lands from Odumpong Ofankor Stool from these towns and villages.
Rather, the gazetted chief who is the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council pointed out that the lawful things these land developers to do were to come to the Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional Stool Secretariat to re-regularize their lands title documents for them in under to have peaceful stay on their lands.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV flanked by the accredited elders of Ngleshie Amanfrom Divisional Stool indicated that "the citizens of Stool and Odumpong Ofankor people always seen ourselves as brothers and sisters or the same family.
"So l am saying that any land developer who acquired land in the illegal ways for which is not from the Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool, it is the time for them to come to the Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool Secretariat so that we re-regularize their lands title document for the. But we are not going to battle anybody, " Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV stressed.

Additionally, the chief stated that; "I am always using this opportunity to make this clear that when you are on your land or in your house and any person come to you to tell you that they are coming for demolition, tell that person he is telling a lie.
"I am announcing to every land developers and purchasers to come to the Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool Secretariat so that the right to be done,"
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV explained.
"This is an era of a new dawn" and I call on all the citizens of Ngleshie Amanfro to come together and build a great dynasty.  You must all drum the messages to the general public the Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool has won the case against Odumpong Ofankor Stool .
…Our grandfathers fought for it, our fathers did, and now it is our turn,” Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV stated.
Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV noted that during his acceptance address after the elders and kingmakers installed him the chief of the area,  he assured all the citizens of Ngleshie Amanfrom that he would not let go even a single property their fathers have left for them.

"So for me to lead my people to win this landmark case in favour of the Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool was a clear testimonial that l demonstrated to bring development to the door step of the people in the area," the chief said.
"Nobody should listen to the chiefs and people of Odumpong Ofankor Stool because they are frustrated people and trouble makers. The right time would come and that they would understand themselves that the elders Ngleshie Amanfro Divisional Stool are the rightful owners of the 48 villages including Kasoa enclaves," Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV stressed.
