BONO NDC MPs: SUPREME COURT RULES ON DEPUTY SPEAKER'S VOTING RIGHT SUBJECT TO PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL

Members of Parliament (MPs) from the National Democratic Party (NDC) in the Bono area have claimed that the Supreme Court judgment on the e-levy, on which the deputy speaker can vote, is not final and must be approved by parliament.

They reassured the people of Bono that the 137 minority groups will never support the " Kodiawuo" electronic levy, whether today or tomorrow.

They would not, however, disappoint the people of Bono and Ghana as a whole.

Parliament works with standing orders, according to members of Parliament for Tain constituency Honourable Sulemana Adama, also known as Ramsey.

Before Parliament can make any changes in the standing orders, the standing order committee must review and access the specific article that they want to change, which is not easy.

"We, the NDC MPs, are aware of the supreme court's decision because of the e-levy, and we are prepared to face them."

He went on to say, This was revealed by Honourable Ramzey in a media interview at the NDC Bono Regional TEIN Conference in Wenchi, which was held for the first time.

According to him, 137 NDC members of Parliament oppose the e-levy, so the government should abandon it and focus on how to restore the economy with all stakeholders on board.

He claims that Ghanaians have lost faith in the legal system because if legislation is enacted to address a specific situation, the law becomes obsolete.

The government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should stop pursuing anyone who speaks out on economic issues.

The Member of Parliament for Wenchi in Bono Region, Honourable Seidu Haruna, claimed that the e-levy appears to be "madam Catherine" medicine, claiming that it will solve all of our issues, which is not the case.
