The Regional Director for Bono East National Road Safety Authority, Mr Emmanuel Akyeampong Parry, advised drivers to have enough sleep to feel comfortable behind the steering wheel.

Eighty Two (82) road crashes have been recorded in the Bono East Region in the first quarter of the year and a total of Thirty-Eight (38) fatalities.

This was according to Bono East Regional Director for National Road Safety Authority, Mr Emmanuel Akyeampong Parry in an interview with Soireenews.

Speaking with Soiree News, Mr Emanuel Acheampong Parry said motorbikes and tricycles crushes were high among the accidents. He added, 135 people, sustained various degrees of injuries.

According to Mr Akyeampong, his outfit will continue to educate the public on road accident to reduce the occurrences of road accident. 

He advised drivers to have enough sleep to feel comfortable behind the steering wheel.

He again spoke against tricycle owners who entrust their machines in the hands of riders who do not have experience.

To reduce the spate of road fatalities, personnel of the National Road Safety Authority are receiving training in enforcing regulation on speed limits, the National Boss for the Authority Ing. Mrs May Obiri Yeboah has said in an earlier interview. Road crashes have been a growing concern in Ghana.
