Bats have taken over Diabaa M/A Basic School in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

The situation has compelled pupils to abstain from school with the fear of being hurt by the animals.

Assemblymember for the area, Joseph Kumi narrating the incident tO SN24 News said chiefs and authorities of the community have taken all steps to evacuate the bats but to no avail.

He is therefore appealing for new classroom blocks since the situation has compelled authorities of the school to merge classes leading to overcrowding.

He said, even though the PTA and The School Management Committee (SMC) are doing their best yet more classrooms would be needed to accommodate the pupils.
