Prosecute Perpetrators and stop beating innocent people- Assemblyman

The Assemblymember for New town Akokora Kwadwo electoral area, Honourable Osei Yaw has tasked the Police and military to prosecute people involved in the beating of Military Personnel and other criminal activities to save the innocent residents.

Some residents of the area have accused a joint Police and Military operation team of brutalizing them following a mob action that had a Soldier beaten by some youth months ago.

Soireenews in an interview with the Assemblymember for the area Honourable Osei Yaw said, the Police arrested those who were involved in the beating of the soldier but has been released without prosecution therefore there is no reason to beat up innocent people.

He however admitted that some of the youth are becoming deviant therefore the need for the security officers to make sure they are brought to order but was quick to add that there must be a proper way of dealing with it not the indiscriminate beating of people.

He also advised the youth to get themselves employed to get busy since 'the devil finds work for the idle hands' saying he is ready to assist anyone who is willing to learn any skill and warned the deviant youths to desist from all evil activities since he will not condone with evil should they get apprehended by the police.

Some resident who fell victim to the action of the Military shared their experience with Soireenews.
